A brain hemorrhage happens when one of the arteries in your brain bursts. This causes bleeding inside of the brain and it is one type of stroke.
Many people think of strokes as something that happens to the elderly due to the impact of aging, diet and other such factors. However, trauma plays a significant role, especially for younger individuals. For instance, trauma causes more brain bleeding for people under 50 years old than any other cause.
This type of bleeding is very dangerous. It can lead to cell death. The brain does not always recover from these types of injuries, even if they’re not fatal, when the lost cells cannot be replaced.
Some of the symptoms you should watch out for after a head injury include:
- Having a seizure
- Getting a very severe, sudden headache
- Losing your balance and coordination
- Having trouble with your vision
- Feeling weakness in your limbs
- Throwing up or feeling very ill
- Feeling lethargic; others may notice that you do not seem alert at all
- Feeling numb
- Having a tingling feeling, similar to when your arm falls asleep
- Not being able to speak properly
- Not understanding others when they speak
- Losing consciousness, even for a short time
- Not being able to swallow properly
These are just a few of the symptoms to watch out for, but they help show you how you may feel early on during the condition. If you do suffer serious injuries, it is important for you and your family members to know all of the legal options available to seek financial compensation.
