Traumatic brain injuries affect many victims differently

On Behalf of | Mar 3, 2017 | Brain Injury |

A traumatic brain injury (TBI) is one of the most common injuries that can occur, often in a car accident or as part of a sports injury. A TBI can change many aspects of a person and the way that they interact with their environment — often indefinitely. If you or someone you love has suffered a TBI in a car accident, it is important to consider that the injury may have long-lasting effects that are difficult to predict.

Victims of TBIs are affected in many different ways. There are numerous factors that may play a part in how one TBI victim experiences and responds to the trauma versus how another might. The severity of the injury can mean that the victim experiences anything from difficulty reading or understanding conversation to complete personality changes, loss of cognitive and motor functions, or even coma.

The relative health and age of victims may also play a role in how a TBI affects them and long or difficult their recovery is. While many TBI victims are able to recover fully or substantially from the injury with proper treatment, not all victims will be able to do so. In general, the more severe the injury, the more difficult and unlikely a full recovery will be.

If you or a loved one has suffered a TBI, it is important to consider the options that you may have to seek help in recovery and compensation for your losses. Guidance from an experienced attorney who understands the nuances of personal injury law will help you build a strong case as you seek justice for your losses.

He actually persuaded me not to settle because he believed that we had a great case. So we took the case to trial and he fought like crazy for me. And we won! It was a really good experience —well, as much as it can be for a lawsuit — and I’m very happy I went with them. I’ve been really blessed to have him as my attorney, so I recommend him whenever I can.”
