How to avoid common accidents during fall in California

On Behalf of | Sep 30, 2022 | Car Accidents |

Fall is a wonderful time of year characterized by cool weather, beautiful leaves and pumpkin spice everything. However, it’s also a time when motor vehicle accidents increase, and there are reasons for this.

The leaves

Depending on where you live, trees lining the roads can create a picturesque scene during your commute. Unfortunately, as the leaves fall and obscure drivers’ views, car accidents become more common. Additionally, wet leaves can make roads slippery and dangerous. It’s important to be aware of your surroundings and take extra care while driving.

The weather

Cooler temperatures can lead to foggy conditions, making it more difficult to see other vehicles on the road. In some cases, ice may form on roads and bridges, which can also contribute to motor vehicle accidents. Also, shorter days mean that there is less daylight, making it more difficult to see potential hazards. So, it’s important to drive slowly and try to maintain a safe distance from other vehicles. If you experience bad weather while driving, it’s best to pull over and wait for the conditions to improve.

Distracted driving

As the holidays approach, people tend to become more and more distracted. With Christmas shopping, Halloween parties and other festive activities, it’s easy to let your mind wander while behind the wheel. However, it’s important to stay focused on the task at hand: driving. That also means planning ahead and leaving extra time to reach your destination.

Fatigue

As with all the other seasons, fatigue can be a factor in motor vehicle accidents during fall. With the time change and the end of daylight savings, it’s easy to feel tired. Unfortunately, fatigue can also make you sleepier and less able to focus on the road. So, it’s important to get a good night’s sleep before driving, and if you feel tired while driving, it’s best to pull over and take a break.

So, those are a few things to keep in mind when driving during fall. By being aware of potential hazards and taking extra care, you can help ensure a safe and fun season for everyone.

He actually persuaded me not to settle because he believed that we had a great case. So we took the case to trial and he fought like crazy for me. And we won! It was a really good experience —well, as much as it can be for a lawsuit — and I’m very happy I went with them. I’ve been really blessed to have him as my attorney, so I recommend him whenever I can.”
