Do this if you break your foot at your construction workplace

Many workers in California are always at risk of injuries, some of which could be life-threatening. In the construction industry, for example, construction workers are constantly exposed to many forms of accidents, including falls, slips and trips. One of the most common consequences is a broken foot.

How do you know that you have a broken foot?

A broken foot is essentially a break in one of the bones in your foot. The most common symptoms include pain, swelling, bruising and difficulty walking. To confirm this workplace injury, take some time to assess the pain.

If you can’t put any weight on your foot or if the pain is too severe to walk, then it’s likely that you’ve broken a bone. Also, look for any deformities in your foot’s shape. If your foot looks twisted or out of alignment, then it’s possible that you have a break.

You may need to take off your shoes and compare your injured foot to your other foot. If the two look different, then it’s likely that you have a break.

What should you do if you think you have a broken foot?

If you think that you might have a broken foot, the best thing to do is to seek medical attention immediately. Walking on a broken foot can cause further damage and make the construction injury worse. If the pain is too severe to walk, then call for an ambulance or have someone drive you to the hospital.

Once you’re at the hospital, a doctor will likely order an x-ray to confirm the break. From there, they’ll be able to determine the best course of treatment. Depending on the severity of the break, you may need to wear a cast or boot for several weeks. In some cases, surgery may be necessary.

If you were injured at work, then you may be entitled to workers’ compensation. After seeking medical attention, be sure to notify your employer of the accident and your injuries. Your employer should then help you file a claim with their workers’ comp insurance carrier.

He actually persuaded me not to settle because he believed that we had a great case. So we took the case to trial and he fought like crazy for me. And we won! It was a really good experience —well, as much as it can be for a lawsuit — and I’m very happy I went with them. I’ve been really blessed to have him as my attorney, so I recommend him whenever I can.”
