If you must have your day in court, make it a good day

Worker dies while working alone at construction site

When you’re on the job, you know that there are risks. However, it’s your hope that those risks can be mitigated and that you have a great chance of completing your work for the day without injuries.

Unfortunately, that’s not what happened for a worker who was killed in a construction accident in Sacramento County. The worker had been performing his duties at an apartment complex when he became trapped in a small Bobcat tractor’s parts. He had been working on a swimming pool project at the time.

The Sacramento Metro Fire Captain answered questions about the incident, stating that no one else was at the scene, so it’s hard to know what exactly happened. It wasn’t until a colleague arrived after the accident at around 10:30 a.m. that 911 was called for the man. He was declared dead when the first responders arrived.

This incident shows why it is necessary to have more than a single worker on a job site at all times. A simple mistake, like getting caught under a tractor, could have fatal implications for those who can’t get help right away. Having two or more employees on scene can also help prevent certain incidents from taking place since they can warn each other about potential hazards as they appear.

If you are hurt on the job or lose your life in a construction accident, you want to know that you and your family won’t have anything to worry about. Even if you’re not an employee and are a third-party contractor on scene, you deserve the protection that a personal injury claim has to offer.

He actually persuaded me not to settle because he believed that we had a great case. So we took the case to trial and he fought like crazy for me. And we won! It was a really good experience —well, as much as it can be for a lawsuit — and I’m very happy I went with them. I’ve been really blessed to have him as my attorney, so I recommend him whenever I can.”
