If you must have your day in court, make it a good day

7 safety risks on a construction site

On Behalf of | Jul 26, 2018 | Construction Accidents |

Construction is often referred to as one of the most dangerous industries in the United States. Workers suffer life-changing and sometimes fatal injuries. There is a serious risk in deciding that this is the career you want to pursue.

To help you better understand the dangers you face, consider the following safety risks, which often show up on construction sites around California:

  1. Electrical hazards
  2. Trench collapses
  3. Scaffold collapses
  4. Falls from heights
  5. Repetitive motion injuries
  6. Falling objects
  7. Poor communication regarding hazards

These mistakes can be minor, such as when a worker gets a mild electric shock while inspecting wiring, or they can be very serious, such as when a worker falls from a defective ladder or scaffold system.

Of course, multiple issues could also occur at the same time. For instance, one worker may notice that a trench appears to be dangerous because the right safety equipment was not used. He or she may then report it, but the management does not relay a warning fast enough. During that time, another worker goes into the trench and gets buried when it does collapse.

The key thing to remember is that even simple jobs come with serious hazards and risks. Workers can get hurt on their first day or after 30 years on the job. Overlooking the risks only makes the industry more dangerous than it already is.

Have you been injured on a construction site? Are you now facing high medical bills, lost wages and many other costs? It is absolutely critical that you fully understand all of the legal options you have to seek compensation.

He actually persuaded me not to settle because he believed that we had a great case. So we took the case to trial and he fought like crazy for me. And we won! It was a really good experience —well, as much as it can be for a lawsuit — and I’m very happy I went with them. I’ve been really blessed to have him as my attorney, so I recommend him whenever I can.”
