World-famous pop star Justin Beiber has been in the news frequently over the past year for unflattering reasons including losing a pet monkey to German authorities, complaining neighbors and fights with paparazzi. Now, the teen idol has been involved in a late night traffic accident that involved a pedestrian injury and may have serious consequences for the singer.
Video was taken of the 19-year-old leaving the Laugh Factory comedy club in Los Angeles surrounded by fans, photographers and the public. He jumped in the driver’s seat of his white Ferrari parked in front of the club and tried to leave when the accident occurred. The inexperienced teenager motioned for the photographers to get out of the way of the car, but apparently he could not wait until for them to move. During his haste, he apparently pinned one of the photographers between a parked car and his Ferrari. The singer did not stop his car or ask if the photographer was alright, instead he pulled away and drove on down the road. Police confirmed the accident. The injured photographer was treated at a hospital for injuries to his left leg from the accident. In general pedestrians are a vulnerable group when up against large cars or trucks. Pedestrians hurt in an auto accident should immediately seek medical attention. In the weeks following an accident a pedestrian should write down what they experienced and learn about their legal rights to compensation. Sometimes it takes a while for injuries to flare up, so injured pedestrians have the right to recover past and future medical expenses, as well as expenses for pain and suffering and wage loss.
