Motorcycle accident takes the life of a 25-year-old woman

There are several things that should never be mixed with alcohol but unfortunately are in America, including getting behind the wheel of a car. Each year thousands of Americans are killed by a drunk driver. Groups like MADD have done their part to prevent drunk driving, of course, but it still happens all the time. Many families have lost brothers, sisters, moms and dads to the negligence of a drunk driver. Recently a 25-year-old California woman lost her life from a motorcycle accident caused by such a motorist.

The accident occurred when the 25-year-old woman was out on a motorcycle ride with her boyfriend when a sedan crashed into them. The young woman later passed away at the hospital. Her boyfriend is expected to recover from his serious injuries, including two broken legs. The driver of the sedan was a 68-year-old man who was booked on suspicion of felony driving under the influence. Police are continuing to investigate the crash. Motorcycles are often fun to drive and provide riders with many cost-effective advantages but they still can prove dangerous. Motorcycles stand little chance when struck by any car or large truck piloted by a negligent driver. Motorcyclists’ exposure to the elements doesn’t do much to protect them against collision. That is why it is critical for all drivers to stay sober while behind the wheel and pay attention to everything and everyone on the road, including motorcyclists. Each year many bikers are killed from the negligence of another driver. California is home to beautiful weather, giving riders more opportunities to use their bikes throughout the year. These increased riding opportunities make California bikers as a whole more prone to accidents, however. For victims of motorcycle accidents that have suffered serious injury or death, compensation may be awarded to the injured or family of the loved one killed. An attorney experienced in motorcycle accident cases may help victims or their families seek the damages they deserve. He actually persuaded me not to settle because he believed that we had a great case. So we took the case to trial and he fought like crazy for me. And we won! It was a really good experience —well, as much as it can be for a lawsuit — and I’m very happy I went with them. I’ve been really blessed to have him as my attorney, so I recommend him whenever I can.”
