Man sues truck company after suffering incapacitating injuries

Car accidents are very common in Los Angeles. From the everyday fender benders to the multi-vehicle tragedies, car accidents are part of life. Sometimes, though, motor vehicle accidents can either end a life or cause life-long injuries. For one hardworking California man, a tragic cement truck accident caused him to suffer incapacitating injuries that will likely last the remainder of his life.

The accident occurred after the man was driving down Interstate 805 one foggy day when his car was involved in a drunk driving incident that happened on the other side of the freeway. After getting out of his car on the side of the road to pick debris off his car, a cement truck crashed into him, sending his body into the dirt. After a lengthy hospital stay and spending over $1 million in surgeries and procedures, the man survived, but is in very rough shape. The man is suing the cement truck company, possibly for negligence, since the driver may have failed to reduce speed in unsafe conditions. The man and his attorney plan to pursue the trucking company’s $10 million insurance policy. Anytime a serious injury results from a commercial vehicle accident, someone is usually to blame. When negligence is proven in a personal injury claim, the injured may be awarded compensation for their damages which can include hospital bills, lost wages and loss of quality of life. Due to their massive weight and the laws of physics, large commercial vehicles can cause catastrophic damage when involved in an accident. California residents who have been injured in a motor vehicle accident from the negligence of another may be eligible to receive compensation for their injuries. An experienced attorney may help provide advice and guidance to those injured by negligent drivers or transportation companies. He actually persuaded me not to settle because he believed that we had a great case. So we took the case to trial and he fought like crazy for me. And we won! It was a really good experience —well, as much as it can be for a lawsuit — and I’m very happy I went with them. I’ve been really blessed to have him as my attorney, so I recommend him whenever I can.”
